- Venue - This years event central will be near the head walk
of "F" dock, Elochoman Marina, in the gravel lot. Jackie (Elochoman
Marina manager) has agreed to set up the large white tents for us
(same as last year) to provide us shelter, and build a fire pit nearby
for evening gatherings and the telling of sea stories. Power and water
will be supplied from "F" dock and CYC will furnish a port-a-potty for
our convenience.
- Mooring - For those of us who will be required to relocate
our boats for the weekend, CYC and AYC guests will be stern tied on
"F" dock near Hinshaw's. Ace Anderson will be our dock master (if he
is in town). In any event, we will have a dock master on duty and
available on hailing frequency channel 69
- Meals - We will serving three
(3) evening meals (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and three breakfasts
(Saturday, Sunday and Monday).
- Friday
(5/27) - Evening meal, for those who are arriving early, will
be a hamburger/hot dog barbecue held in our tent/pavilion. Beer,
wine and pop are included.
- Saturday
(5/28) - A pancake breakfast will be served beginning at 0700
ending at 0900. Dinner will consist of our "regular hors
d'oeuvre's" provided by members, with margaritas, beer,
wine and dessert provided by CYC.
- Sunday
(5/29) - A pancake breakfast will be served from 0700 ending
at 0900. Dinner will be served at the
Skyline Golf Course
and will be catered by "The Swagat" Restaurant (Indian Cuisine) from
Portland and
hosted by Kuldip Vald, proprietor of Skyline Golf. We will be
served a variety of wonderful Indian dishes with items to satisfy
almost any palate. Beer and wine will be available at the no-host
bar. Transportation to and from the golf course is still in the
planning stage.
- Monday
(5/30) - A pancake breakfast will be served from 0700,
earlier if AYC wants an early start home, until 0900. The menu will
be "breakfast leftovers". No other meals will be served today.
- Activities - Three organized activities are currently in
the works.
- The blind dingy race (time and day dependent on weather),
as usual, will be organized by Bob Kuehl. If you haven't done this
one, you really should!
- A short sailboat race will be held
on Sunday,
mid-day, with the course and time to be set based on weather
conditions and number of participants. John Vik (CYC) and Stuart
Sinclair (AYC) will be organizing this event. All who are
interested in entering a boat should contact either John (360.560.0121)
or Stuart (503.717.2564).
If you do not have a sailboat and would like to crew or just ride
along, please let either John or Stuart know.
- For those of you who will not be sailing, you are invited to
play a short, 9 hole, golf tournament, to be held at Skyline
Golf Course. For details and reservations to play golf please
contact Genie Cary (360.795.0229).
- Transportation to and from the marina/golf course is being
worked on. We are exploring two options 1.) Private cars, or 2.)
Renting the Chamber's S.F. trolley. We will get you to dinner and
back!!
- Cost - The CYC member cost for all meals and activities
(excluding golf) will be $40.00 per person. For AYC participants
arriving via boat on
Saturday afternoon/evening, the cost will be $30.00 per person.
There will be no charge for member and guest children 10 years old and
younger. Please mail your check, payable to CYC, to:
RSVP -
Finally, we would like to get a head count
as soon as possible. If you plan to participate in this years
Memorial Day
activities, please email me your confirmation (Lmccarty214@msn.com)
, with anticipated head counts, as soon as possible so we can
begin firming things up. If you are only a "maybe" at this point,
we would like to know that too.
Any comments and/or corrections are welcome.
Pray for sun.

CYC Memorial Day Committee Chairperson
