The meeting was called to order by Vice Commodore Bob Kuehl. Board members present were: Rear Commodore John Vik, Directors Tom Hall, John Dees, Larry McCarty, Secretary Pam Emery. Absent members were Commodore Mike LaFarge, and Treasurer Linda Norton. Vice Commodore Bob Kuehl welcomed everyone to the Italian Dinner Night. Guests were introduced and the dinner chairman and decorating crew of Pam Emery, Sherry Hinshaw, Sharon Deaton, and Genie Cary were recognized. Everyone enjoyed the lasagna, salad, and bread provided from “Sharon’s Pizza and More”, great appetizers and desserts from club members as well. It was moved and seconded to dispense with the reading of the minutes and the treasurer report at this dinner meeting. Nominating Committee: Sherry Hinshaw reported the names of the people continuing to serve on the board and the names of new officers for 2012, they are: Commodore Bob Kuehl, Vice Commodore John Vik, Rear Commodore Mike Paulson, Secretary Pam Emery, Treasurer Sharon Deaton, Directors Tom Hall, Gary Emery, and Ace Anderson. Cruise report: Chairpersons John and Sherry Hinshaw reported a successful cruise season with five events. Lois Island, Wallace Island, Paradise Cove, and the favorite with 8 boats to Astoria, OR. River Pilot: Brett Deaton, Columbia River Pilot, gave an interesting and informative talk about being a river pilot. Training and navigational systems were highlighted and Brett answered many questions from the floor about problems and interesting situations navigating the Columbia and the different crews from various cultures he comes in contact with. He noted that recreational boaters should feel free to talk with the river pilot if needed on the river. Boat and Quilt Drawing: Boat Raffle chairman, Gary Emery, reported that the boat and quilt raised $1449.00. The winner of the wooden boat dinghy was Blair Brady of Cathlamet and the winner of the quilt was Yvonne LaMont from Scappoose, OR. A news article will be put in next week’s paper announcing winners. Pam Emery and Genie Cary conducted the drawing for door prizes for the evening. With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned. Respectfully Submitted, Secretary Pam Emery
