4th Quarterly General Meeting

Quarterly Meeting: A festive Caribbean-themed dinner was enjoyed by members attending the Quarterly Meeting on November 20th at Rose City Yacht Club. Members were greeted with parrot hats and festive refreshments!

Minutes: The reading of the November 7th minutes was summarized by Commodore Mike LaFarge highlighting By-Laws and new officers to be voted on. Members were informed of the recent purchase of life rings for Port 2, Swenson Park from boat raffle proceeds.

Treasurer Report: Dispensed with.

By-Law Amendments: Members present were given By-Law amendments changes and asked to vote on each amendment change. Ballots were collected and tallied by amendment committee member Marsha LaFarge. All amendments to club By-Laws were passed by over 2/3’s majority.

New Officer Elections: The slate of nominated officers for the 2012 year were reviewed:
Commodore: Bob Kuehl, Vice-Commodore John Vik, Rear Commodore Mike Paulson, Treasurer Sharon Deaton, Secretary Pam Emery, Directors-Tom Hall, Ace Anderson, and Gary Emery.  Members present were given ballots for voting. All nominees were voted in to their positions by over 2/3’s majority vote.

Commodore’s Ball: Committee Chairman Marsha LaFarge reminded members of the annual Commodore’s Ball held this year on January 28th, at the Monticello Hotel in Longview, WA.
There will be an official invitation mailed out soon.

Barefoot Charters Video: In keeping with the Caribbean theme of the night, John Dees showed an informative, sun-filled vacation video of sailboat chartering in the Northern Caribbean Sea.

Door Prizes: Director Larry McCarty gathered door prizes for the meeting from members and West Side Marina. Tickets were drawn for prizes.

A big thank you to Jan and John Dees for organizing this fun-filled Caribbean dinner and afternoon event and to all those who brought salads and appetizers!
