Cathlamet Yacht
Club The meeting was called to order by Commodore Mike LaFarge. Board members present were: Directors Larry McCarty, Tom Hall, John Dees, Treasurer Linda Norton, and Secretary Pam Emery. Board members absent were: Vice-Commodore Bob Kuehl and Rear Commodore John Vik. Other members attending were: Gary Emery, Diane Hall, Linda McCarty, Jan Dees, Genie Cary, and Past Commodore Chuck Norton. Minutes: Minutes from the November 7th and November 20th Quarterly meetings were shared and approved. Treasurer: Treasurer Linda Norton reported a beginning balance as of November 7, 2011 of $6,371.97. Deposits: Membership renewals $2,100.00, new members of $205.00. Expenses: totaled $333.76. The ending balance as of December 7th, is $8,343.71. The Treasurer’s report was approved. Linda presented an event expenditure summary from 2011 for the purpose of budgeting monies for future events: Commodore’s Ball- $1,439.00 ($30.00 per person), March Quarterly Meeting-$255.00, Memorial Day Weekend-$2,838.00 ($40.00 per person, kids under 10 free,) September Quarterly Meeting-$336.00, November Quarterly Meeting-$292.00, Reciprocity-$176.00, General replenishment of supplies-$138.00. All other administrative expenses including storage, insurance, postage, website, etc. $1,454.00. Port 2 Letter: Gary Emery submitted a thank you letter from Port 2, Svensen Boat Launch for the CYC donation of a life ring. It has been fully installed and acknowledges the Cathlamet Yacht Club. Cook stove and Patio Heater: Commodore Mike LaFarge suggested the club purchase a 3 burner cook stove for club usage. Director Larry McCarty also suggested purchasing a patio heater. Discussion was positive toward both items and Director Tom Hall moved to accept these suggestions with a second from Director Larry McCarty. The motion was passed unanimously. Director Larry McCarty will check into places to purchase the grill and patio heater and report his findings at the next meeting. Board Members: The club would like to thank Director Larry McCarty, Director John Dees, and Treasurer Linda Norton for volunteering their valuable time in service to the CYC Board. Kudos: bA big thank-you to Marsha LaFarge for arranging reservations for wine tasting and appetizers at Rutherglen Mansion. bIt was a very enjoyable evening! Commodore’s Ball: bThe annual Commodore’s Ball will be held at the Monticello Hotel, January 28th in the Rose Room. bMarsha LaFarge will head the committee for this special event. bInvitations will follow soon.
